DESCRIPTION: The use of natural themes in a variety of health institutions contributes to a lowering of stress levels and sense of tranquillity. This centre provides in-house support services for parents of young children. Parenting is one aspect of life’s journey which involves varying degrees of personal development including the learning of new skills and decision making.

Though residents of the centre are from a wide range of cultural groups with different life experiences, the one thing that unites every woman, man and child is that we all connected to a broad family tree. Nature’s inherent, cyclical processes of growth and renewal provide a metaphor for the diversity yet commonality of experiences that shape aspects of each individual’s life journey.

The hybrid vine flooring designs winding through these corridors represent and celebrate the paths we choose to travel in our quest for personal transformation.

A series of four bronze seed-pod andbird-like ‘creatures’ recessed into the wall serve as blossoming, fruiting bodies from these vines. They are symbolic of new beginnings, transcendence and the endless, wondrous possibilities of life.
