MYTHICAL CREATURES, 175 Eagle Street

Return to the album index page
TITLE: “Mythical Creatures”

MATERIALS: Gilded White Gold leaf on 22 laminated glass panels

DIMENSIONS: Ranging from 600 x 800 mm to 1800 x 600 mm

LOCATION: 175 Eagle St Foyer, lift area and pedestrian corridor, Brisbane

DESCRIPTION: These two-dimensional designs are inspired by research of significant flora and fauna that previously inhabited the Brisbane River and those that remain in existence today. Each hybrid ‘mythical creature’ is a mixture of body and plant parts, including bat’s wings, bodies of wild bees, cockatoo crests and many other species. The works meander through a pedestrian corridor towards the river and allude to ongoing evolutionary possibilities for Nature.
