Nature Interrupted - Contemporary Australian Sculpture

Nature Interrupted brings together works that challenge and expand notions of what is natural in today’s world. Artists in the exhibition explore botanical anomalies, pseudo-natural forms, visions for the future and uncanny takes on familiar environments. Themes include environmental concerns, metamorphosis, evolution and fantastical worlds. Artists include Sebastian Di Mauro, Simone Eisler, Janet Laurence, Vera Möller, Sarah Newall, Anna-Maria O’Keeffe, Caroline Rothwell, Kathy Temin and Carmel Wallace. Curated by Simone Jones

In a curatorial project for Art and Health: entitled Meridian I Urban, an international jury and the HKW selected five projects to be presented in public spaces in Berlin during the Asia-Pacific Weeks September 6 - 17, 2011
42 up-and-coming curators from 29 countries, mostly European and Asian, submitted proposals for site-specific projects.Â
This jury was made up of:
* Katja Blomberg, director of the Haus am Waldsee, Berlin
* Adele Tan, art historian and critic, Singapore
* Yu Yeon Kim, freelance curator, New York/Seoul
* Osvaldo Sánchez, curator/director of the Museo de Arte Moderno, Mexico City
Berlin Laughter Project works with “Laughter Meridiansâ€, which run through Berlin’s urban system like the veins in a body.
